Dr. Calvin Mackie is the founder of STEM NOLA, a New Orleans-based non-profit organization that exposes, inspires, and engages local communities about opportunities in STEM. A former professor at both Tulane University and the University of Michigan, Dr. Mackie is also a STEM advocate, author, speaker, and consultant. In addition, he is a Managing Partner of Channel ZerO Group LLC, which provides educational and motivational services nationwide. Dr. Mackie’s commitment to STEM education has included authoring several books that are used in high school and college courses nationwide.

Fun Fact: As a native of New Orleans, Dr. Mackie has been featured in films such as Spike Lee’s “When the Levees Broke.” He is also the older brother of actor Anthony Mackie, who starred as Falcon and the new Captain America in Marvel’s “The Avengers” movies.
