Dr. Bettye Washington Greene was the first Black female chemist employed at Dow Chemical Company, where she specialized in latex. In addition to holding several patents, Dr. Greene was also a founding member of the Midlands, Michigan Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
