Dr. Clarence “Skip” Ellis is the first Black person to earn a Ph.D. in computer science and the first Black person to become a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). He served as a professor and visiting lecturer at universities and research centers across the United States and internationally, including Paris, Accra, and Taiwan.
