Dr. Donna Auguste is an engineer, computer scientist, and founder. She led an engineering team at Apple to develop the Newton personal digital assistant (iPod predecessor). She also cofounded an Internet startup company (Freshwater Software) that was acquired for $147M in 2001. She led a non-profit that completed extensive rural development in Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Mexico, and Haiti. Dr. Auguste holds more than 20 patents in the United States. She currently performs engineering research with sensors and actionable data science, and she also advocates for STEM education for diverse, underrepresented groups.
