Dr. Edray Herber Goins is one of only three Black people to earn a Ph.D. in math from Stanford University. He is currently a professor of mathematics at Pomona College in Claremont, California. Prior to this, he served as a professor of mathematics at Purdue University. Dr. Goins is a STEM advocate for Black students, and regularly discusses his challenges as a Black mathematician in higher education. He was also recently featured in the New York Times article, “For a Black Mathematician, What It’s Like to Be the ‘Only One.’”
