Dr. Jerrod A. Henderson is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Cullen College of Engineering and Co-Founder of the St. Elmo Brady STEM Academy (SEBA) at the University of Houston. SEBA is an educational intervention that exposes underrepresented fourth- and fifth-grade boys to hands-on, inquiry-based STEM experiments and activities. As part of this program, undergraduate engineering students meet with the boys twice a week. On Saturdays, fathers or other male family members join them for hands-on projects. Undergraduate mentors serve as mentors for boys whose relatives cannot attend. Prior to joining the University of Houston, Dr. Henderson served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois.
