Dr. Julian Manly Earls is a physicist and retired director of NASA’s John Glenn Research Center and is NASA’s first Black section head, first black office chief, first black division chief, and first black deputy director. Dr. Earls has also received numerous honorary doctorates from a number of universities. Following his service with NASA, Dr. Earls also served as the 10th president of Alabama A&M University. Fun Fact: Dr. Earls is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
