Dr. Nashlie Sephus is the Applied Science manager for Amazon’s artificial intelligence, the founder and CEO of The Bean Path, and the first black woman CTO of a company (Partpic) that was acquired by Amazon. Partpic allowed smartphone users to save maintenance time by taking a picture of a part, then matching the image with the appropriate part and specification. As a result of this acquisition, Dr. Sephus then led Amazon’s Visual Search Team, which launched the visual search capability for replacement parts on the Amazon Shopping app. She also created the non-profit The Bean Path, which provides “technical advice and guidance to individuals and small businesses.”
