Dr. Robert Satcher is an orthopedic oncologist, chemical engineer, and astronaut. Entering MIT at age 16, he graduated with a degree in chemical engineering and later earned both a Ph.D. in chemical engineering and M.D. from Harvard simultaneously. He completed two spacewalks before retiring from NASA in 2011. Dr. Satcher is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where his specialization includes in the treatment of skeletal metastatic disease, soft tissue sarcoma, and teleoncology.
