Dr. Sylvester James Gates, Jr. is a leading expert in supersymmetry, supergravity and string theory. He co-authored Superspace or 1001 Lessons in Supersymmetry, a standard textbook on supersymmetry. He has dedicated a large part of his career to STEM education, specifically diversity, equity, and inclusion in physics for minorities. In 2013, Dr. Gates was awarded the National Medal of Science from President Obama. He has also appeared in several commercials and television shows on networks such as BBC and PBS.
