Dr. Treena Livingston Arinzeh is a professor of biomedical engineering at the New Jersey Insitute of Technology. Her research in adult stem cell therapy includes stem cell tissue engineering and biomaterial strategies to repair bone, cartilage, and musculoskeletal tissue, and nerve tissue regeneration (specifically, spinal cord). Dr. Arinzeh’s groundbreaking research includes demonstrating that adult stem cells from one person could be injected into another without rejection. Dr. Arinzeh’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM includes inviting 40-50 high-school students from marginalized groups to her lab each summer to demonstrate not only her research, but also to encourage them to pursue STEM degrees and careers.
