Mr. Leland Melvin is a NASA astronaut and researcher who has logged over 565 space hours. He is also the author of Chasing Space: An Astronaut’s Story of Grit, Grace, and Second Chances. He flew on the 24th and 31st shuttle missions to the International Space Station. He has the distinct honor of being the only NFL draftee to have flown in space. In addition to his work with NASA Langley Research Center, Mr. Melvin has been a dedicated advocate in promoting STEM degrees and careers to students across the world and shares the numerous pictures he captured to demonstrate the beauty of the Universe and planet.
