Mr. George Biddle Kelley is the first Black engineer registered in the state of New York. His career included work on building the Barge Canal, a collection of state waterways throughout New York.

Fun Fact: Mr. Kelley is a founding member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
