Mrs. Ursula Burns is chairperson and CEO of VEON. Prior to this, she was the first Black woman to serve as CEO of Xerox. After beginning her career at Xerox as an intern in 1980, Mrs. Burns was also the first Black woman to serve as CEO of a Fortune 500 company. In 2014 and 2015, Forbes rated her one of the 100 most powerful woman in the world. She is a founding board director of Change the Equation, which focuses on improving the U.S.’s education system in STEM.
